The latest in our regular series of profiles of riders of Pashley and Moulton bicycles. Zeb deservedly picked up the combativity award after a day spent in the break on stage five of this year’s Tour of Britain.

Tell us a little about yourself

I am Zeb Kyffin, I’m 24 years old, I’ve lived in The Netherlands and the UK. I started cycling when I was very very little, but professionally racing since 2019.

What do you do for a living?

For a living I work at Wahoo Fitness as a member of their customer operations and warranty team. I studied Industrial Design at University and plan to move into their Product development team in the future. I also race a bike for a UK Continental Team called Ribble Weldtite Pro-Cycling, so those make up my two income sources.

What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about cycling, funnily enough! I’m also passionate about well and beautifully designed things in everyday life, which serve us well, many of those things are on bikes and I find value in those striving to make our daily lives more pleasurable.

What is your earliest memory of riding a bike?

My earliest memory of riding a bike is on a little black and yellow bike, maybe I have a picture somewhere, riding round the little park and the end of our road in The Netherlands...

What was your first bike?

This was also my first bike and probably the only new complete bike I have ever had until I started riding pro!

How long have you been a cyclist?

I’ve been a cyclist since I was very little, I guess when I was about two or three years old, I didn’t start riding pro until 2019, when I was 21. So, about twenty two of my 24 years!

What bike are you riding?

My current Bikes include a Ribble Aero TT bike,  a full set of Ribble Road Race bikes and a white Moulton AM Speed with HED Wheels and racing group set, and for occasional off road a suitable race set up Specialised Epic MTB.

How many bikes do you own?

Maybe eight or nine including team bikes, I can never quite remember. Bikes I own myself, perhaps about four and then all the ones I have broken over the years, which hang on the walls. Oh, and occasional ‘collectable', a Unicycle and a Micro Bike… Its always changing!

What is your dream bike?

My dream bike today is the 'S Works Venge', probably not the most culturally iconic bike, but its probably the fastest bike on the market today.

What appeals to you about cycling?/What does cycling mean to you?

It's become one of those things where I have put so many hours into it now that it has become my whole drive in life. So it means everything. It's freedom on a day to day basis, it gives me three hours a day of not worrying about anything, pushing myself to the limit. Trying to strive to be the best I can, and a huge drive for excellence and success in the sport which I love. Its an escape as well.

What do you dislike about cycling?

The Pain! …racing at level with world tour riders requires huge suffering and passion and it costs. It costs pain …I still dislike it!

How often do you ride your bike, and for what purpose?

I ride all the time, to the shops, I commute on it, I ride with my girlfriend for pleasure on day rides, and I train and I race.

What’s your favourite cycle route or destination?

I love riding in Northumberland, where my parents live. The roads and countryside are just wonderful. I also love riding in the Dolomites of Northern Italy, great training roads on the banks of Lake Garda, lots of holiday memories, mountain route and climbs... All fantastic!
